History

  1. 1983 The Hong Kong dollar is pegged to the US dollar at HK$7.8 to US$1 on 17 October.
  2. 2005 The HKMA adds a commitment to buy US dollars at 7.75 and moves its sell-side commitment from 7.80 to 7.85, creating a band of 7.75 to 7.85 per US dollar.
