History

  1. 1976 The Solomon Islands Monetary Authority, predecessor of the Central Bank of Solomon Islands, is established in June.
  2. 1977 The Solomon Islands dollar is launched in October, replacing the Australian dollar; the Monetary Authority converts Australian notes and coins to the new currency.
