The Serbian Dinar is issued by the National Bank of Serbia.
- 1992The breakup of Yugoslavia and the ensuing economic crisis lead to hyperinflation in Serbia and Montenegro.
- 1994A monetary stabilisation programme stops the hyperinflation.
- 2003The National Bank of Yugoslavia becomes the National Bank of Serbia and issues money for circulation in Serbia.
- 2006Following the dissolution of Serbia and Montenegro, the currency receives the ISO code RSD, effective 25 October.
